Garth Brooks added a “New Opening Night” to his highly-anticipated arena tour kickoff.

Brooks, 64, announced his “New Opening Night” to the “Blame It All On My Roots Arena Tour” on Friday morning (July 17). The country hitmaker also added a matinee performance, totaling four back-to-back shows to kick off his arena run at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis Indiana, per a press release:

  • Thursday, August 20 *NEW*
  • Friday, August 21
  • Saturday, August 22
  • Sunday, August 23 (matinee) *NEW*

“No one was prepared for this,” Brooks said of the demand, noting “nearly 400,000” fans waited in the online queue to purchase tickets when they became available on Friday. Tickets to the shows are available now, Brooks said. The press release notes that all tickets are “one fair price,” at $154, plus applicable taxes. Brooks has not announced additional tour destinations as of publication time.

Brooks announced earlier this month that he’s returning to arenas 30 years after his history-making run of shows in the ‘90s. The announcement arrived after he teased fans with a mysterious countdown on his website. Brooks said in a previous statement, “going back into the arenas is about putting the stadium show in a box. The excitement gets multiplied by the intimacy. Every seat is a great seat. This is personal.”

Brooks’ highly-anticipated upcoming arena tour “will bring every hit Garth has ever made back to the rooms where it all started,” the press release states. “These not-to-miss-shows will also serve as the foundation for Killer Live, a groundbreaking new approach to live recording that continues Brooks’ tradition of capturing history in real time.”
