A San Diego woman who survived a horrific carjacking attempt in Mexico last month has a huge financial burden coming her way as she struggles to get her luxury car back.

Cassandra Light, a life coach from Mission Beach, was shot in the leg while driving in Tijuana, which shattered both her tibia and fibula.

Now, Mexican authorities are telling her she can only retrieve the car by physically coming to the tow yard and, until she does, the bills will keep piling up.

Light hired a lawyer in Mexico to deal with the aftermath of the attack, but she was met with more disappointment as the attorney sung the same song to her.

She underwent several surgeries for the injuries and, as a result, cannot even walk right now, let alone travel to Mexico. Light is furious at how it’s playing out against her.

“Why am I, as a violent crime victim, being charged? Doesn’t seem fair,” Light told ABC News Monday.

According to the news outlet, she also connected with the US Consulate General in Tijuana Monday and was asked to submit a vehicle recovery form before they could begin to find ways to help her. She is awaiting a response from the Consulate.

Light was driving her Mercedes GLA in June from Rosarito to San Diego with her beloved golden retriever, Ellie, when a gunman fired multiple shots into her car.

One bullet entered through the driver’s side window, traveled through the vehicle and exited through the passenger door, Light said in a statement on GoFundMe earlier this month.

It will take her months to get back to a normal life, and she won’t be able to work during her recovery. But, the bills aren’t waiting for her to get back on her feet.

Light said the financial impact of what has happened has been “overwhelming,” citing medical bills, inability to work, legal fees, rehab and recovery and more.

DOJ launches investigation into how New Jersey put 6,600 noncitizens on voter rolls – gives Mikie Sherrill five-day deadline

WASHINGTON — The Justice Department is demanding that New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill (D) fork over key data about the 6,600 non-citizens who were erroneously registered to vote, including the people’s names. On Tuesday, Gov. Mikie Sherrill (D) blamed a “serious software error” in the state’s Motor Vehicle System involving French tech company IDEMIA for the mishap that led to roughly 400 noncitizens voting. United Airlines can now boot passengers for one of the most annoying airplane habits

United Airlines just gave passengers a reason to scream. The major airline quietly updated a noise policy that, before the change, had flyers nearly losing their minds. United told The Post that back in February, the company started enforcing headphones when listening to content on phones, tablets or anything that makes sound. This means passengers are no longer able to blast TikTok or watch movies without the use of headphones. United’s...
