Fox News political analyst welcomes new baby daughter as he posts pics with little bundle of joy

Fox News political analyst Guy Benson has welcomed a baby girl to his family.

The political pundit made the announcement on social media Monday, sharing sweet photos of him holding, feeding and cuddling the little bundle of joy, who was born on July 15.

'She's here and she's perfect,' Benson captioned the photos. 'We are blessed and overjoyed to welcome Madison Halsey into the world and into our family.

'Our hearts are filled to the brim,' he beamed. 'A baby girl. We are just so thankful.'

Many of his colleagues at Fox News congratulated Benson and his husband, Adam Wise, on the new arrival.

'We love you so much - beautiful precious girl welcome to the world!!!' commented Emily Compagno, a legal analyst for the network.

'Congratulations to you and your growing family,' added senior correspondent Alicia Acuna.

Other well-wishers included Martha MacCallum, Maria Bartiromo and conservative figures including Nikki Haley and Meghan McCain.

Benson came out as gay in May 2015 when promoting the release of his book 'End of Discussion,' which included a footnote: 'Guy here. So I'm gay.'

'In the book, in a footnote, I came out as gay because there was a whole chapter about gay rights and the religious liberties, and I felt like it was important for me to disclose just ethically... from a journalism perspective,' he recounted to PEOPLE.

Wise, who was watching as Benson made the announcement on an episode of The Kelly File with Megyn Kelly, then decided to email the Fox News star.

'I wanted help reconciling being a conservative and being gay,' he said. 'I'd come out, I'd been out for a while.'

The two eventually met in person, and bonded over a Netflix binge session of Making a Murderer. 

'It became very clear pretty early on that things clicked,' Benson said.

'We're both organized and driven human beings,' added Wise, a consultant for the federal government. 'We just work well together.' 

They were then engaged in 2018, and got married in September 2019 in California's Napa Valley. 

The couple then welcomed a son via surrogate on November 25, 2023.
