Former Nebraska running back Dante Dowdell suffered serious injuries in an ATV accident.

A former Nebraska running back suffered serious injuries in an ATV accident. Georgia Bulldogs back Dante Dowdell is being treated in Atlanta after being injured during an accident while the team was on break.

Dowdell is entering his first season at Georgia and is at his fourth school in four years. He spent 2023 at Oregon, 2024 at Nebraska and 2025 at Kentucky.

During his one season in Lincoln, he played in 12 games running for 614 yards and 12 touchdowns. Both stats were career highs as he would run for 560 yards and only three touchdowns the following season in Lexington.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart confirmed at SEC Media Days that Dowdell was seriously injured and will undergo a long recovery.

"He's injured. We don't know when his return will be. I don't know the specifics of it, to be honest with you. It was a recreational vehicle, and he had some serious injuries."

Dowdell's injury is a blow to the Bulldogs as he was expected by play a significant role behind starter Nate Frazier.
