Training camp season has arrived in Foxborough, and so has the first group of New England Patriots. Starting on Tuesday, drafted and undrafted rookies as well as select veterans including the team’s quarterbacks have begun reporting to camp.
Headlined by starting quarterback Drake Maye and first-round draft pick Caleb Lomu, upwards of 25 players are scheduled to report to Gillette Stadium.
The arrivals will go through physical examination and classroom training before hitting the practice fields alongside the rest of the Patriots’ active roster on Saturday.
Draft picks
The Players listed here were all picked by the Patriots in the 2026 NFL Draft. In total, the team brought in nine players in late April’s selection meeting.
- OT Caleb Lomu
- ED Gabe Jacas
- TE Eli Raridon
- CB Karon Prunt
- OT Dametrious Crownover
- LB Namdi Obiazor
- QB Behren Morton
- RB Jam Miller
- ED Quintayvious Hutchins
With the exception of second-rounder Gabe Jacas the entire group has signed its rookie contracts and is therefore eligible to participate in training camp without any restrictions. Jacas, meanwhile, will be in the spotlight the coming days. Under normal circumstances, however, a resolution to his apparent contract stalemate should be expected sooner rather than later — similar to what happened with fellow second-rounder TreVeyon Henderson in 2025.
Undrafted free agents
The players listed here all signed with the Patriots as rookie free agents. In total, 14 of the UDFAs brought aboard after the draft currently remain on the 90-man roster and will get a chance to prove themselves over the coming weeks.
- RB Myles Montgomery
- WR Nick DeGennaro
- WR Cameron Dorner
- WR Kyle Dixon
- WR Jimmy Kibble
- TE Tanner Arkin
- OL JonDarius Morgan
- OL Jacob Rizy
- DT David Blay Jr.
- ED Xavier Holmes
- LB Khalil Jacobs
- CB Channing Canada
- CB Kenneth Harris
- S Peter Manuma
Historically, the Patriots have not shied away from giving UDFAs opportunities over the course of the summer. Just last year, two of them — wide receiver Efton Chism and outside linebacker Elijah Ponder — made the team out of training camp. This year, running back Myles Montgomery, tight end Tanner Arkin, offensive linemen JonDarius Morgan and Jacob Rizy, and linebacker Khalil Jacobs look like the most realistic candidates to follow in their footsteps.
In total, the Patriots will have four fewer rookies at training camp than last year.
Quarterbacks
The Patriots have a clear hierarchy at quarterback heading into training camp:
- QB Drake Maye
- QB Tommy DeVito
- QB Behren Morton
Drake Maye is the undisputed QB1 coming off an MVP-caliber season that saw him lead the Patriots to the Super Bowl; expectations are high for the third-year man in his second season working alongside offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. Tommy DeVito was elevated to the top backup spot this offseason in light of Joshua Dobbs getting released, while rookie Behren Morton projects as a camp arm fighting for one of the final spots on the roster.
New England’s full roster will have reported at Gillette Stadium by Friday. The Patriots will then hold their first practice of this year’s training camp on Saturday, July 25, at 10:15 a.m. ET.
