Daily Show viewers were puzzled after host Jon Stewart noticed a man who bore a striking resemblance to Donald Trump in the background as the president spoke to reporters after the World Cup final on July 19.
During the Monday, July 20, episode of The Daily Show, the 63-year-old comedian fueled conspiracy theories that Trump uses a 'body double' as he questioned the mystery man's identity, referring to him as 'Backup Trump.' Eagle-eyed viewers quickly took to X to reveal the unsettling truth about Trump's twin.
This comes after Jon Stewart mocked Donald Trump's cankles and caught him struggling to talk during his appearance at the World Cup final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

After sharing a clip of Trump's "post-match analysis," during which the 80-year-old boasted, "It was four times greater than any FIFA ever held. It's probably about five times, actually," Jon paused mid-joke to ask producers to roll back the clip.
"What's with the guy behind Trump? Can we see that again?" the host said, pointing to a heavyset man wearing a similar suit who had wandered into the frame and asked, "Who the f--- is this guy?" Who the f--- is this?"
Jon kept the bit going as the clip rolled, asking, "Is this — What — Who in the world is it? Oh my God, is that a backup Trump? Wait a minute, wait, hold on a second. Wait, what? Wait, who? What?" as a large oval appeared over the mystery man in the frame.
"Is that a backup Trump or is that Trump? Wait, is the one we've been dealing with backup Trump?" the television personality theorized, as audience members erupted in laughter. The clip circulated on social media as internet detectives quickly unmasked Trump's lookalike.
Viewers took to X to discuss the body double conspiracy theory before realizing the mystery man was, in fact, Trump's father-in-law, Viktor Knavs, who bears a striking resemblance to the president and is just 4 years older than his daughter's husband.
One viewer wrote, "The internet never misses a chance for a conspiracy theory. Turns out the 'backup Trump' was just Melania's father—sometimes the funniest plot twists are the real ones."
A second added, "Father in law looks just like him so who else thought that was a secret clone at first glance," as a third chimed in, "This is insane! It’s Melania’s dad but wow is he the spitting image of Trump…Which is a bit weird."
Others echoed the ick of discovering Trump's lookalike was actually his own father-in-law, with one viewer commenting, "That’s his wife’s father. How gross is that?" and another writing, "HAHAHAHAHA, Melania practically married her own dad."
Earlier in the segment, Jon ridiculed the president over his embarrassing display during Spain's celebration of its victory over defending champions Argentina in the World Cup final, after Trump refused to move out of the way as the team posed for photos with the trophy.
"What the f--- are you doing on the stage? It's for the players! G-- damn!" Jon fumed before joking, "Why must everything be tainted by the overinflated ego of Cankles Muldoon? Why? Why?" referring to Trump's swollen legs, which have sparked concerns about the octogenarian's health.
