Warehouse retailer Costco announced that it will open seven new locations in six states this August.
The new stores are part of the members-only company's broader push to open 26 new locations in 2026.
The cities receiving new Costco warehouses are Lee's Summit, Missouri; Albany, New York; Oconomowoc, Wisconsin; Otsego, Minnesota; Mansfield, Texas; Celina, Texas, and Stone Mountain, Georgia, according to the company.
The seven new locations come on the heels of Costco opening up two additional locations in June in Syracuse, Utah, and Pensacola, Florida.
It's not just the U.S. getting new Costcos; the company also opened a new store in Taiwan this month.
As mentioned, the openings are part of a broader plan for Costco to open 26 new stores this year. One opening, scheduled for later in the year, will bring a warehouse to the Buffalo, New York area for the first time, The Sun reports.
That store is planned for Amherst, which is the most populous suburb of the city.
Costco currently operates more than 620 stores across the U.S. and a total of 930 stores worldwide. Across all of its stores, Costco has more than 82 million paid members.
Warehouse retailers like Costco, Sam's Club, and BJ’s Wholesale Club have been popular with shoppers for decades thanks to the deals they offer on bulk staple grocery items. Member also get deals on everything from electronics to furniture to clothing and vacation packages.
Costco in particular is beloved for its food court, which has long offered fan-favorite options like hot dogs, chicken bakes and rotisserie chicken for low prices.
The company caused a stir among its fans recently when it quietly added a new item to its largely consistent food court menu; chicken tenders, SFGATE reports.
The items were rolled out to Costco locations in California and at least one location in Florida, but it's unclear if there are any plans to add the new items to locations outside the two states.
