Clemson football's future special teams unit appears to be in excellent hands, or more accurately, attached to a dominant left leg.
Brandin Gallaway, a 2027 Clemson commit, was crowned a national champion at the 2026 Kohl’s National Scholarship Camp and selected to participate in the Under Armour All-America Game. More than 1,100 specialists from across the country competed at the two-day event in Tennessee.
Gallaway finished as the competition’s top punter, further strengthening his hold on the number 1 spot in Kohl’s Kicking’s national punter rankings for the 2027 class. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound prospect from Palmetto, Florida, is also ranked as the nation’s fourth-best kicker by Kohl’s.
“Grateful to be selected for the Under Armour All-American as the overall number 1 punter at Kohl’s Kicking,” Gallaway wrote on social media. “Another amazing experience at the Kohl’s National Showcase in Tennessee.”
The recognition was not the product of one impressive weekend. Gallaway has repeatedly separated himself from the other specialists in his class.
During the 2026 Kohl’s National Underclassman Challenge, Gallaway won both first-day punting competitions and consistently produced hang times of at least five seconds. He also scored 20 points during field-goal charting and recorded an overall kickoff score of 115.73, displaying the versatility to contribute in all three phases of the kicking game.
At Kohl’s National Scholarship Camp in July 2025, the left-footed specialist repeatedly converted field goals from between 60 and 65 yards while competing in front of more than 1,000 spectators. He finished that event with 32 field-goal points and scores of 114.55 on kickoffs and 111.01 on punts.
Gallaway committed to Clemson on June 2, choosing the Tigers from an offer sheet that included Auburn, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Louisville, Baylor, Georgia Tech and West Virginia. He became Clemson’s first specialist commitment in the 2027 recruiting cycle.
His latest showing in Tennessee offered more proof that the Tigers did not merely land a punter, rather they got the best in the country.
