The Atlanta Braves are trying to hold on and win the National League East this season. Atlanta is getting some big news on Tuesday, ahead of a game with the San Diego Padres. Braves outfielder Mike Yastrzemski is reinstated from the injured list, per the team.
It is unknown how much the Braves plan to use him on Tuesday, but Atlanta fans are certainly excited that he is back.
“Yastrzemski required just a minimum 10-day absence as he dealt with left elbow inflammation. He skipped a rehab assignment and will receive regular reps in the outfield for Atlanta against right-handed pitching,” CBS Sports reported.

This season, the Braves outfielder is batting at a .230 average. He has posted six home runs and 28 RBIs for the team. He was the hero for Atlanta in a recent win over the Pittsburgh Pirates, when he hit a grand slam to win the game.
Braves are hoping for a special season
The Braves currently lead the NL East, with a 58-41 record on the campaign. Atlanta is three games ahead of the surging Philadelphia Phillies.
It truly has been a special year so far in Atlanta. Walt Weiss is in his first campaign managing the team, and he has given this club a real jolt. The Braves have led the division for virtually the entire year.
The team has found ways to win, even without Yastrzemski in the lineup. Atlanta is certainly happy to have him back, as he was a top free agent signee before the 2026 campaign.
The outfielder has spent most of his career with the San Francisco Giants. In his career, Yastrzemski has collected more than 700 hits.
Along with the move to reinstate Yastrzemski, Atlanta is releasing infielder Kyle Farmer from the roster. The Braves and Padres play at 7:15 ET on Tuesday. San Diego enters the game with a 49-51 mark.
