Boeing Company BA shares are trading higher on Monday as the aircraft maker won several contracts from major airlines.

Major Aircraft Orders Strengthening Commercial Backlog

  • Philippine Airlines committed to purchase up to 20 787 Dreamliners, including 15 firm 787-10 aircraft with options for five more, supporting its fleet modernization and expansion plans.
  • SMBC Aviation Capital ordered 100 737 MAX jets, comprising 60 737-10s and 40 737-8s. The deal marks its first order for the 737 MAX 10 and expands its 737 MAX portfolio to 450 owned, managed, and committed aircraft.
  • Riyadh Air exercised options for 28 additional 787 Dreamliners, including converting 20 aircraft to the larger 787-10 variant. The announcement also revealed a previously undisclosed purchase of 11 Dreamliners, which will increase the airline’s firm 787 order book to 67 aircraft once the remaining 17 jets are finalized.

Last week, Boeing disclosed that it projects a $4.9 trillion commercial aviation services market and demand for more than 2.4 million new aviation professionals over the next two decades.

The company’s 2026 Commercial Market Outlook also forecasts that global air traffic and aircraft demand will roughly double over the next 20 years, with near-term market disruptions not expected to derail long-term industry growth.

Boeing Stock: Key Levels and Momentum Indicators

From a longer-term trend perspective, the stock is sitting in a tight zone around its major moving averages, but it’s still trading below the key short- and intermediate-term lines: 1.9% below the 20-day SMA, 2.7% below the 50-day SMA, and 1.6% below the 100-day SMA. It’s also 1.1% below the 200-day SMA, which keeps the bigger-picture trend in "prove it" mode until price can reclaim and hold those levels.

Momentum is leaning cautiously: MACD is below its signal line and the histogram is negative, which points to upside pressure fading versus the prior upswing unless buyers can reassert control. In plain English, MACD compares faster and slower trend momentum, and being below the signal line often means rallies are having a harder time building.

The moving-average structure is mixed, with the 20-day SMA below the 50-day SMA (bearish near-term), but the 50-day SMA is still above the 200-day SMA after the golden cross in June. Traders will likely treat May’s swing high as the "ceiling" reference and June’s swing low as the nearby "floor" as the stock digests the latest order news.

  • Key Resistance: $232.00 — a round-number area that can act as a common stall point for rebounds
  • Key Support: $214.00 — a nearby pivot zone just under the current price where buyers have recently shown up
