July 2026

Halo: Campaign Evolved – July 28

Halo: Campaign Evolved is a remake of the very first Halo single-player campaign launching on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC this month. Aside from improved graphics and controls, it will also include an additional three prequel missions for long-time fans.

Dispatch – July 29

The kooky choices-matter strategy game where you play as a dispatcher for a superhero company, Dispatch is finally coming to Xbox Series X|S after initially being released for PC and PS5 last year, and Nintendo Switch 2 in January.

August 2026

Beast of Reincarnation – August 4

A new game from the studio behind the Pokémon franchise, Beast of Reincarnation is a more grown up action RPG. Set in a futuristic post-apocalyptic Japan, Emma and her wolf-like companion Koo will explore environments where nature meets technology. Beast of Reincarnation will be released on Xbox Series X|S, PC and PS5.

The Sinking City 2 – August 18

A survival horror game that takes place in a slowly flooding semi-open world, The Sinking City 2 is certainly one of the more interesting entries in the genre. This standalone story completely separate from the original game will be released simultaneously for Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC.

Steins;Gate Re:Boot – August 20

Steins;Gate was first released in 2009,and the sci-fi visual novel is still considered one of the best in the genre. Re:Boot not only features completely updated graphics, but a whole new scenario for long-time fans. Steins;Gate Re:Boot will launch first for Xbox Series X|S, and PC in August, but a PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 version is coming in late October.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy – August 27

The third entry in the A Plague Tale series and a prequel to the first game A Plague Tale: Innocence, Resonance will be a more action oriented entry compared to the earlier games’ stealth-focused gameplay. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy will launch simultaneously on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC.

September 2026

The Blood of Dawnwalker – September 3

Fans of The Witcher 3 have plenty to be excited for in The Blood of Dawnwalker, an action RPG by the same director. Leaning into gothic vampire fantasy rather than medieval high fantasy, it takes choices matter gameplay to a new setting. The Blood of Dawnwalker launches on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC simultaneously in September.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword – September 4

The first all-new Onimusha game to be released in 20 years, hype for Onimusha: Way of the Sword has been accelerated by the release of the excellent Onimusha 2 remake last year. The Capcom-developed third-person action adventure game will also be available for PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC on the same date.

Screenbound – September 10

A platformer where you play a 2D game on a handheld console at the same time as you do 3D platforming in the “real” world. Screenbound takes the genre to new heights as the first ‘5D’ platformer. It’s launching on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC in September. 

Dune: Awakening – September 22

The open-world survival-crafting MMO, Dune: Awakening, launched on PC last year, but it is finally ready to make its move to console with an Xbox Series X|S and PS5 release. Work with others to make a base camp, build vehicles and collect resources on Arrakis.

Control Resonant – September 24

Despite being a sequel to Control, Resonant is an action role-playing game rather than a third-person shooter. Distancing itself from multiplayer spin-off FBC: Firebreak, Resonant aims to be a more narrative focused release. It launches simultaneously on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC in September. For Xbox players at least, it won’t be competing for attention with Silent Hill: Downfall.

Minecraft Dungeons 2 – September 29

Block building behemoth Minecraft’s spin-off dungeon crawling series is receiving its second entry in September. Minecraft Dungeons 2 is releasing simultaneously on Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, PC and PS5, so get your diamond swords ready for multiplayer dungeon diving action. 

October 2026

Rayman Legends Retold – October 1

A ground up remake of the best game in the long-running platforming series, Rayman Legends Retold will be released for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC in October 2026. It includes many changes from the original, such as new dragon flight levels, and Rayman Origins Remastered is part of the game at no extra cost.

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve – October 2

The long-running aerial combat series will see its biggest entry yet in October. Launching on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC, you’ll be able to take to the skies in this detailed simulation game where you play the part of a fighter jet pilot. With a main campaign mode designed to show you the ropes.

Gears of War: E-Day – October 6

Releasing seven years after the last mainline entry, Gears of War: E-Day looks to revive the third-person shooter series after the success of last year’s Reloaded. While the remake launched on PlayStation, E-Day is returning to Xbox console exclusivity, but will also be launching on PC in October.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer – October 6

If the realistic fighter jets of Ace Combat aren’t your thing, then how about racing something more out of this world? Created by developers who worked on both Need for Speed and Burnout, we’re expecting good things when Star Wars: Galactic Racer launches on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC.

Planet Zoo 2 – October 13

Sequel to the popular zoo building simulation game Planet Zoo 2 is launching for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC in October. With new features like aviaries and aquariums, there will be a lot more to do when the new entry launches.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse – October 15

Returning to the series’ heyday, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse hopes to take the metroidvania series back to the genre-defining excellence of Symphony of the Night. It’s launching on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC on October 15, and is expected to come to Nintendo Switch 2 later in the year.

Ratatan – October 15

From the developers of tower defense rhythm strategy series Patapon, Ratatan aims to be a spiritual successor to the classic PlayStation games. The roguelike twist on the rhythm genre originally released in early access for PC last year, but the full game will launch on Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, and PS5 in October.

Tenebris Somnia – October 16

An interesting mix of pixel art game and short film, Tenebris Somnia will come to Xbox Series X|S in October alongside PS5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC releases. Cinematic live-action cutscenes blend with 2D old-school survival horror gameplay for a fresh feeling experience.

Final Fantasy Resonance – October 22

If you’re a big fan of old-school JRPGs and love the HD 2D art style, then Final Fantasy Resonance is for you. Mixing the classic gameplay with a modern look and new story, it’s scheduled to launch simultaneously for Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, PS5 and PC in October.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 – October 23

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will be launching simultaneously for Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, PC and PS5 in October. Focusing on the Korean War, it marks another entry in the long-running first-person shooter series, following the success of Modern Warfare 3. Let’s hope it lives up to the standard of the last one.

November 2026

Grand Theft Auto 6 – November 19

If you are wondering why there aren’t any other major games being released in November, this is why. The latest in the long-running crime simulator series, GTA 6 is expected to be the biggest release of the year swallowing all other games in its path. You likely don’t need the reminder, but GTA 6 is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC.

December 2026

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World – December 3

Dragon Quest is one of the most popular and long-running JRPGs, and it’s no surprise that Square Enix would want to spin off the adorable monster designs into a creature collector. The latest entry in the Monsters series is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, PC and PS5.

2026

No Rest for the Wicked – Late 2026

From the team behind Ori and the Blind Forest, No Rest for the Wicked has been in early access on PC for two years. The full release is coming to PS5 and PC around October this year, while a Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S version is expected before the end of the year.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Sea of Sorrow – 2026

After almost a decade of waiting, roguelike metroidvania Hollow Knight: Silksong launched to great success last year. We apparently won’t have to wait nearly as long for the first DLC as Sea of Sorrow is expected to be released in 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, PC and PS5, but given Team Cherry’s track record with Silksong, we’re not holding our breath.

Silent Hill – 2026

Following the success of 2024’s Silent Hill 2 Remake, Bloober Team has been given the chance to remake the game that started the whole series. Completely different from the more popular second entry, the original Silent Hill follows a dark doomsday cult. However, with the release of Townfall this year, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the remake delayed until next year. It’s expected to be released for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
