Audi's redesigned Q7 gets a huge price hike for 2027, but is the primary reason justified?

Audi finally gave its luxurious mid-size three-row SUV a complete redesign with the advent of the new Q7 and the higher-performance SQ7. However, along with fresh styling and a host of desirable new features, the 2027 Audi Q7 has a considerably higher cost of entry, with the base model now priced nearly $9000 more than before.

For 2027, the Audi Q7 Premium starts at $72,195, which is $8900 more than its 2026 counterpart. That's obviously a huge price hike, but it's largely caused by Audi dropping the Q7's previously standard 261-hp 2.0-liter turbo four. Now, every trim features a new 429-hp turbocharged 2.9-liter V-6 that's also an upgrade versus the outgoing 355-hp turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6, which last year started at $68,895. An eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive remain standard.

Those who want fancier features on their new Q7 can opt for the Premium Plus and Prestige trim levels. The former starts at $76,595, and the latter starts at $86,195. If you want to know how those prices compare with last year, the four-cylinder Premium Plus started at $67,095, and the V-6 version started at $74,495. The outgoing Prestige was V-6 only and had a $78,195 base price.

Audi's sportier SQ7 also benefits from a comprehensive makeover, and it inherits a more powerful twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 that now makes a lot more horsepower (591 versus 500). While the 2027 version starts at $99,995, it's now only offered in a single unnamed trim that splits the difference between last year's Premium Plus ($95,095) and Prestige ($101,095).

You can now build your own Q7 and SQ7 on Audi's online configurator, which also provides more details about individual options. For instance, Carrara White is the only no-cost paint option; the rest are $595.
