A 2,000-year-old Greek statue may secretly provide physical evidence that time travel is possible, as some believe the woman carved in stone is seen using a laptop computer.
The statue from 100 BC, known as Grave Naiskos of an Enthroned Woman with an Attendant, stands roughly 37 inches high and depicts a woman of high status seated comfortably on an elaborate, throne-like chair.
While her left arm rests on the chair, her right arm extends forward to lift the lid of a mysterious rectangular object being held by a young servant girl - which conspiracy theorists have claimed is too shallow to have been a jewelry box.
One person asked: 'Is this ancient Greek statue showing a laptop proof of time travel?'
The statue even has a pair of holes in the alleged computer where USB ports on a modern laptop would be.
Images of the mysterious relief, which is currently on display at the J Paul Getty Museum in California, recently resurfaced online after a surge in wild stories by people claiming to be time travelers from the future.
One self-proclaimed time traveler, calling himself Adam Archon, even said that the ability to go back into the past to witness historical events would be commonplace by the year 2028.
While these individuals brought little proof that they really traveled back through time, there has been a growing list of incidents captured by videos or photos which appear to show people holding modern devices decades before they were invented.
Another person on social media said of the statue: 'Look it even has two USB ports.'
'Oracle, it all adds up,' one commenter added, noting the myth of the Oracle of Delphi, which was said to allow priests to connect with the gods, aliens or time travelers and share information and advanced technology.
Skeptics have largely agreed with the museum in believing that the object was simply a box for the wealthy woman's jewels and nothing else.
Curators said in a statement: 'Although the box appears too shallow to hold anything substantial, we can identify it as a jewelry box by comparison with other funerary reliefs that depict women pulling ribbons or jewelry out of larger, more naturalistic boxes.'
However, this was not the only time a piece of artwork from Ancient Greece has appeared to depict someone carrying a laptop.
In fact, multiple pieces of Greek art around 500 BC seen on drinking cups appear to show people holding an open device that would be the shape and size of modern laptops while writing on them with a stylus.
Today, millions of people use a digital stylus on tablets and touchscreen laptops, such as the Surface Pen on a Microsoft Surface, to write and draw directly on the screen.
While these images have been dismissed as depictions of wax tablets used by the Greeks as primitive notebooks, more modern photos have sparked ongoing claims that humans from the future did indeed bring phones and computers into the past.
A resurfaced recording of legendary rocker Elvis Presley's final concert sparked wild theories after a fan in the crowd was spotted holding what looked like an iPhone during the 1977 performance.
Other incidents have included photographs of a man during World War II appearing to be talking on a cellphone in Reykjavik, Iceland, and a spectator in the front row of a Mike Tyson boxing match appearing to hold up a smartphone in 1995.
In 2019, Archon claimed: 'Time travel was released to the public in 2028, but it was invented in 1981. It was just kept secret until they released it publicly.'
The alleged time traveler from 2045, whose voices and face were obscured during an interview with the YouTube channel Apex TV, added that the technology in the future allowed people to simulate past events, but many preferred to visit these actual time periods to experience history in person.
Another self-proclaimed time traveler, who identified himself as Alexander Smith, said he had jumped into the past from the year 2118 - telling a similar story to Archon regarding the creation of time travel.
Smith said in a 2018 interview with Apex TV that the CIA possessed advanced technologies that remain hidden from the public, including what he described as a secret time machine.
He claimed he was a carpenter from 1981 who was recruited by the CIA for a secret experiment that sent him forward in time to 2118, where he saw a dystopian future with AI ruling the world, flying cars, floating robots and major global changes following World War III.
Like Archon, Smith claimed that time travel technology existed decades before the public knew about it and predicted it would become available 'beginning in the year 2028' for both commercial and non-commercial uses.
Scientists have stated that time travel into the past is not only possible; the math to make it happen actually aligns with Einstein's famed theory of general relativity.
Despite the theory of time travel appearing to be plausible, there has been no concrete evidence that humans can regularly move backward through time, or have a machine capable of doing that.
