Cybercab Irrelevant to Investors

In a response to user @CuriousPejjy, who talked about the recent sighting of over 245 Cybercab units at the company’s Giga Texas facility, Black said that the number of “cybercabs parked at Giga Texas is irrelevant to investors” as long as the vehicles could not autonomously drive without “safety monitors,” the investor added.

“Supervised autonomous cars are not scalable,” he said, outlining that the fleet was “just for show” unless “the 245 can be driven autonomously.”

The investor had earlier dismissed the idea of Elon Musk-led Space Exploration Technologies Corp. SPCX acquiring or merging with Tesla. He said that despite Musk’s mammoth voting share and power over SpaceX, the company’s board was not free from its “fiduciary duty” to investors.

Tesla Earnings Call

The comments come as Tesla has been gearing up to host its second-quarter 2026 earnings call this week, with the automaker also releasing company-compiled forecasts of sell-side analysts, who predict approximately $27 billion in revenue for the quarter and GAAP EPS of $0.36/share.

Investors in the company also put forth questions about Tesla’s various products, with a majority of the questions centering around the Robotaxi ramp, as well as Optimus production and whether the company’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) efforts were being scaled.

The EV giant had also said that it would be ramping up production capacity at the Gigafactory in Berlin following its higher-than-anticipated delivery figures during the second quarter of 2026.

According to Benzinga Edge Rankings, Tesla scores well on the Growth metric, but offers poor Value. It also fails to provide a favorable price trend in the Short, Medium and Long term.

Price Action: Tesla shares were up 0.25% to $370.50 during overnight trading on Monday.
