AGAWAM, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Agawam Cinemas received a heartwarming gift this week, a framed painting of the building.
The artwork and a letter now hang in the lobby showcasing the painting’s journey.
The letter says a former Agawam resident bought the painting at a yard sale almost a decade ago. Her father suffered a stroke and dementia began eating away at his memory.
When they moved to South Carolina, the painting became a connection to his hometown and his memories.
Now that her father has passed away, the owner sent the painting back to Agawam to be returned to who she says is the rightful owner.
