CHARLESTON — A local real estate agent is making his television debut on HGTV.
Bradley Roberts, who works for Keller Williams in the Charleston area, applied online and was selected to join an episode of “House Hunters” and give a buyers a tour of potential homes in the city.
Having watched the show for years, Roberts told The Post and Courier he was couldn’t pass up the chance to be in an episode and was “incredibly grateful” for the opportunity to share his knowledge of the market.
“House Hunters is one of those shows that almost everyone has seen at some point,” he said. “It's always been interesting to see the different priorities people have when searching for a home.
As a Realtor with a primary focus in the Charleston-area market, Roberts said that he enjoys being part of the journey to help buyers find a home, which he describes as “one of the biggest decisions people make in their lives.”
“Seeing the excitement when someone finds the right home or receives the keys for the first time never gets old,” he wrote. “It’s rewarding to know you’ve helped someone reach an important milestone.”
Roberts didn’t want to give away any spoilers ahead of the air-date, but shared that viewers will get to see some beautiful Charleston-area properties and experience first-hand the homebuying process in the local market. Noting how homebuyers can be selective on the show, he wrote that having specific criteria when house hunting can be helpful because it helps him narrow down the search and focus on a client’s priorities.
“In most cases, no home checks every single box,” he wrote. “That’s why it’s important to identify true must-haves versus nice-to-haves. The buyers who have the most success are usually the ones who stay focused on their priorities while remaining flexible enough to recognize a great opportunity when they see one.”
Roberts said the Charleston market is unique, offering historic charm, beautiful beaches, vibrant downtown neighborhoods and golf communities. He added that people are drawn to the area for the lifestyle Charleston has to offer as much as the real estate itself.
“Charleston offers a combination that’s hard to find anywhere else,” Roberts wrote. “Whether someone wants to live near the water, in a walkable historic area or in a growing suburban community, Charleston has options for almost every type of buyer.”
