ARLINGTON – The injuries now appear to be coming at warp speed for the Rangers. Tuesday began with Jose Corniell and Kyle Higashioka going on the IL before the Rangers game against the Chicago White Sox and saw Josh Jung leave after the third inning. Jung left with what was described as "left calf tightness."
Jung, who had played 91 of the club's first 100 games, appeared to slow up while going from first to third on Brandon Nimmo's third inning single. There was no indication initially that anything was significantly wrong. He stayed in the game and scored on Jake Burger's two-out double.
He did not, however, come out for the top of the fourth. Ezequiel Duran replaced him at third base with Nikky Lopez moving into the lineup to play shortstop.
Jung has spent time on the IL in each of his first three full seasons in the majors,
Corniell and Higashioka both were placed on the IL before the game with flexor tendon issues.
