Palworld doesn’t have traditional difficulty settings or cheat codes; if you want to make your life easier, it has something much better: custom world settings. If you select your world, click “world settings” at the bottom of the screen, and then select “advanced settings”, you will get a massive list of sliders and switches that can alter your experience. It’s almost overwhelming with how many options there are.
We’ll help you pick out the most useful of these options so you can make the alterations to your world that can help you out, or make for a fun challenge if you’d prefer that.
Best custom world settings in Palworld
Here is a list of the options we think you should know about:
- EXP & Pal Capture Rate – These two sliders are the most straightforward way to make the game easier. The EXP slider can go up to 20x the standard rate, letting you level up ridiculously fast. Additionally, the Pal Capture slider can double your catch rate for Pals.
- Work Speed Multiplier – Work Speed is what determines how long it takes to craft items at workbenches and the like. The fact that some items take ages to craft can be a real pain, so increasing this slider will make everything happen a lot quicker.
- Grazing Item Production Rate Multiplier – When pals are sitting around in the Ranch, they will occasionally produce items. This will make them produce items faster, so you get more stuff.
- Item Weight Rate – Tired of getting overencumbered? With this slider, you can increase or decrease how much items weigh. If you pull this slider all the way down to zero, all items will be completely weightless.
- Meteorite/Supply Drop Interval – Meteorites and Supply Drops are useful events in Palworld that can get you exclusive loot and Pals in your world. By default, one happens every 180 minutes, but you can lower this to as frequently as one per minute if you’d like.
- Death Penalty – This option determines the consequences of dying in your world. By default, it is set to dropping your items but not your equipment. You can lower this to no drops at all, or increase it to dropping your items, equipment, and event Pals upon death.
- Max number of Bases/Pals per Base – These two options are worth increasing if you want more efficient bases. One will increase the number of bases you can have in your world (3 by default), while the other will let you spawn more Pals in your bases to work (15 by default). You just have to be careful, as pushing these sliders too high can cause performance issues.
- Random Pal Mode – This is a very fun setting, but you must turn it on when you first begin a world. This will randomize all the Pals spawns in the world. You can set it to either per-region if you still want a sense of progression, or you can completely randomize it, meaning every single Pal that spawns in the world could be any of the 287 available Pals in the game.
- Hardcore Mode (Nuzlocke) – This is the other challenge mode you can turn on, and there are two options. First is player Hardcore, which means that your progress will be reset back to Level 1 upon death, and there is also Pal Hardcore, where your Pals will be lost permanently if you allow them to be KOed in battle.
- Allow Pals to be saved/reconstructed in the Global Palbox – The Global Palbox lets you build a system where you can transfer Pals across your save files, letting you give yourself powerful Pals earlier on in certain worlds. This setting will enable or disable that if you’d prefer your Global Pals to be inaccessible in certain worlds.
