Nvidia stock was edging higher early Wednesday, on what promises to be a big day for the technology sector. Alphabet‘s earnings are after the bell and investors will be hoping the report doesn’t return Nvidia to a period of wobbling performance.

Shares in Nvidia were up 0.2% in early trading after a 2% rally on Tuesday that lifted the whole chip sector. While the stock has surged almost 25% in the last year, Nvidia is down almost 1% on the month, languishing with other chip names amid concerns including competition and the sustainability of sky-high chip prices.

Alphabet helps investors into the heart of Big Tech earnings later on Wednesday, with Google set to be closely-watched for its view on artificial intelligence spending that could impact Nvidia and others.

As investors wait for Alphabet, they can ponder an AI partnership drawing together two of the biggest names in technology.

Nvidia and Alphabet are teaming up in a partnership with a German data-robotics firm, Microagi—hot on the heels of the startup’s $55 million seed round—as it expands into AI capable robots

Microagi will use Google Cloud to accelerate the development of models that allow robots to understand and interact with their physical environment, drawing on Nvidia’s Blackwell platform to scale its training workload.

“Robotics is becoming one of the most demanding frontiers for AI, requiring massive physical-world datasets, accelerated compute and a full-stack platform to turn models into intelligent machines,” said Nvidia’s director of AI startup in EMEA, Tobias Halloran.

“By running on NVIDIA Blackwell powered instances on Google Cloud, Microagi can scale the training and deployment of embodied AI systems for commercial and industrial environments.”
