Family-owned hospitality group McKeever Hotels is investing £1.8 million in a major bedroom refurbishment at the 64-bedroom Lodge Hotel in Coleraine as it responds to growing tourism demand across the region.
It forms part of McKeever Hotels’ wider growth strategy, which prioritises reinvestment across its portfolio to maintain high standards, support local employment and enhance the visitor experience.
It follows McKeevers’ acquisition of the property in 2024, with plans already under way to reposition the hotel as a leading accommodation offering on the north coast.
As part of the investment, all bedrooms at the Lodge have undergone a full refurbishment, designed to elevate the guest experience, guest comfort and align the property with the wider McKeever Hotels portfolio.
Hotel general manager Tracy Young said: “We’ve always been incredibly proud of our strong connection to the local community.
“We see people returning year after year, whether that’s families enjoying a north coast staycation, locals and friends catching up, or golfers exploring everything the region has to offer.”
McKeever Hotels managing director Eddie McKeever added: “This investment reflects our long-term commitment to the Lodge Hotel and to the north coast as a key tourism destination.
“These upgrades will ensure we are well placed to meet that demand, while providing a comfortable and modern environment for both leisure and business guests.”
Other hotels in the McKeever portfolio include the Dunadry Hotel & Gardens, Dunsilly, Corr’s Corner, Adair Arms, and Armagh City Hotel in the north, and also the four-star Dillons Hotel in Letterkenny.
