More than three decades after helping redefine hardcore and metal, Hatebreed is gearing up to unleash another new album.
The Connecticut heavyweights have announcedFatal Paradox, their ninth full-length studio album, which is set for release on Nov. 6 via BLKIIBLK Records. The record marks the band's first new album since 2020's Weight of the False Self and arrives 32 years after Hatebreed first formed in 1994.
Fans won't have to wait long for a preview.
The album's opening track and lead single, "Kill Count Increase," is scheduled to arrive on July 21, giving listeners their first taste of Hatebreed's latest chapter. Once again, the band teamed up with longtime producer Chris "Zeuss" Harris, who has worked on many of Hatebreed's most celebrated releases over the years.
"'Kill Count Increase' is the lead track on Fatal Paradox and a perfect way of summing up our first album in six years from the start," frontman Jamey Jasta said in a statement. "It's straightforward, in-your-face Hatebreed. Fast. Hard. It gets down to business and comes up for air two-and-a-half minutes later. The room and everyone in it gets wrecked and comes back wanting more."
The new album also includes a few surprises.
Death metal fans will recognize a guest appearance from Obituary frontman John Tardy, while Hatebreed also pays tribute to fellow heavy music pioneers with a cover of Corrosion of Conformity's "Poison Planet."
Formed in 1994, Hatebreed quickly became one of the defining names in modern hardcore by combining crushing riffs with Jasta's unmistakable vocals and lyrics centered on perseverance, resilience, and personal strength. Albums including Satisfaction Is the Deathof Desire, Perseverance, The Rise of Brutality, and Supremacy helped establish the band as one of the genre's most influential acts, earning a devoted following that spans both the hardcore and metal communities.
Over the years, Hatebreed has remained a festival favorite, sharing stages with everyone from Slayer and Slipknot to Parkway Drive and Lamb of God while continuing to headline clubs and theaters around the world. Their relentless touring schedule and uncompromising sound have kept them at the forefront of heavy music for more than three decades.
With Fatal Paradox, the band is poised to add another chapter to that legacy. Backed by a trusted producer, a high-profile guest appearance, and new music arriving immediately, Hatebreed is proving that it still has plenty to say.
