The 'Big Brother 28' time capsule is full of powers and punishments. These five powers should return for the new season.

Houseguests are traveling through time in Big Brother 28. Fans can vote for a new player to go into the time capsule to get a power or a punishment from the show's past.

Powers that are used correctly can change the course of the game. It is especially thrilling when the underdog gets it. Here are five powers we hope to see return this season.

1. Coin of Destiny

Big Brother 23 introduced a power with a flip of a coin. If a houseguest successfully guesses the coin flip, then they can dethrone the Head of Household and make the nominations.

Claire Rehfuss earned this power in the High Roller's Room. The Cookout was a dominating alliance and already knew who had the power. Tiffany Mitchell was able to keep her nominations. A second try at the Coin of Destiny could be interesting if a person who isn't aligned with the HOH uses it this time.

2. Nightmare Power

You don't get immunity from the block with the Nightmare Power unless you're already on the block. The advantage allows a houseguest to call for a new nomination ceremony in the middle of the night, and the previous nominees are safe for the week.

It would make for great TV to see the house scramble in the middle of the night. We never saw this power activated because Ovi Kabir was evicted from Big Brother 21 before he could use it.

3. Halting Hex

This power comes in clutch for houseguests are already a target. Jessica Grafgot the Halting Hex from the Den of Temptation in season 19.

A houseguest can stop the live eviction that week. The catch is the houseguest has to decide to use it before eviction night. That person needs to time it right so it won't go to waste on stopping an eviction that could benefit them.

4. Ring of Replacement

Houseguests who feel like they are the backdoor option want to play in the veto competition to win and gain immunity. However, the veto players are the luck of the draw if you're not the HOH or a nominee.

Christmas Abbott got this power from the Den of Temptation in season 19. She gained the ability to switch places with another houseguest to play in the veto competition.

5. Double Power of Veto

This power has appeared in multiple seasons of the show. A houseguest a second shot to win veto. This was done with two veto competitions, correctly betting on other players who win the competition, or having two vetos as a reward at the same competition.

Fans can go to cbs.com/bbvote to pick the houseguest of their choosing for the time capsule. There is an equal chance of them getting a reward or punishment. A houseguest can go into the time capsule once this season.
