49ers to wear special uniforms in Week 14 vs. Rams

The Los Angeles Rams are set to play the San Francisco 49ers twice this season as they share a spot in the NFC West together. In the past, these contests have been heated and some of the most enjoyable games to watch.

While this season's series is expected to produce the same hard-hitting action, there will be two unique features associated with those games. As we already know, the Rams will open their season by hosting the 49ers in Melbourne, Australia.

We have now learned that in the second contest, which takes place during Week 14 in San Francisco, the 49ers will be wearing their black Nike Rivalries jersey.

The significance of the Rivalries jerseys

When the Rivalries jerseys were introduced in 2025, the Rams wore them in their home win over the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks also wore theirs in Week 16 against the Rams. In both contests, the team wearing their Rivalries uniform won the game with wild, unprecedented luck.

In the Rams' win, they picked off Sam Darnold four times, and despite their defensive dominance, their offense failed to get anything going. Seahawks kicker Jason Myers was perfect on the day entering the final drive of the game. A big reason the Rams won is Ethan Evans miraculously hit a punt that bounced high in the air and went out at the 1-yard line.

That forced Seattle to drive the length of the field, keeping Myers a few yards from his ideal range. His attempt to win the game fell short as the Rams won, 21-19. Had Evans' punt bounced any other way, Seattle likely would have won.

In Seattle, the Seahawks engineered a 16-point comeback, capped off by a touchdown and successful two-point conversion to take hold of the NFC West and No. 1 seed.

During one of their three successful two-point conversions, the Seahawks threw a backwards pass that was deflected forward into the end zone without being caught. Originally ruled an incomplete pass, officials decided to review the play after a little while, much to the chagrin of Sean McVay.

As the ball bounded into the end zone, it was recovered by Seattle's Zach Charbonnet. The review would result in the correct call, a successful try for Seattle.

Also, Rams kicker Harrison Mevis missed his only kick of the season (regular and playoffs) in that game – a kick would've won the game for the Rams.
