People are waking up to the reality that permanent Daylight Saving Time might actually become law after the House passed the "Sunshine Protection Act." These same people are also waking up to the tradeoff: sunrises after 8 a.m. for much of the year or one measly extra hour of evening light in the dark of winter.

From morning runners to terrified parents, here are 24 tweets from people pointing out why permanent Daylight Saving Time is actually a horrible, dark idea!!

1.First off, meteorologist Pat Cavlin said, "It’s comical how no one understands that we already did this in 1974. It ended up being SUCH a bad idea that it only lasted 10 months before it was quickly changed back."

2."If year round Daylight Saving Time was adopted, roughly 87% of the contiguous urban population (or ~70% of the total population) of the United States would experience a sunrise after 8am in the winter. Currently that figure is 3% of the contiguous urban population."

3."Nobody is going to be outside at 4:30pm on December 21st just because there's a tiny glimmer of sun still out. You're lying to yourselves."

4."As a morning runner, this is my nightmare."

5."I would probably die if the sun rose around 8:15 and we would only get like an extra 30 min a sunlight at the end of the day?! No thanks."
