19-year-old soldier from Texas killed in base attack in Jordan

Gonzales was supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, which assists partner forces secure a lasting defeat of ISIS, according to the Dept. of War.

A Texas soldier was one of two service members killed in a weekend attack on a base in Jordan.

Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas, and 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, were killed in action after a July 17 attack at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, Jordan, the Department of War announced in a news release.

The two were active-duty Soldiers who were supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, which assists partner forces in securing a lasting defeat of ISIS.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reacted to the attack on X and wrote, "Godspeed, heroes. Their sacrifice only stiffens our resolve."

The incident is still under investigation, the Department of War said in the news release.

Pvt. Gonzales was assigned to 1st Battalion, 57th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 52nd Air Defense Artillery Brigade, 10th Army Air Missile Defense Command, Ansbach, Germany.

1st Lt. Feehan was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 55th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 32nd Army Air Missile Defense Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
